U Fleků

U Fleků Brewery and Restaurant

The brewpub U Fleků is considered to be one of the Prague’s most legendary places. The first documented reference of the brewery goes back to 1499. The brewery U Fleků is the only central European brewery that has been brewing beer constantly for over 500 years.

The building U Fleků is on Křemencova street in the centre of Prague. You can really feel the old atmosphere here. The building and all the halls inside are decorated in a stylish way with old furniture. There is also a great courtyard covered by trees and surrounded by old buildings’ walls. Great place to stay during warm and sunny days.

At U Fleků, they brew just one beer, however, it is the one and only Flekovský Dark Lager 13° (“Flekovská třináctka”).

Ivan Chramosil, the brew master, worked in this brewery for 44 years! He retired at the age of 70 and handed the craft over to a younger brew master. Ivan Chramosil reinvented the beer from this brewery when he started brewing here in the early 70s. He made the dark lager from U Fleků brewery famous again. Ivan Chramosil is currently working as a head brewmaster at brewery U Supa.

Nowadays, the brewery U Fleků is very popular among tourists. It is the beer, history, atmosphere and traditional Czech cuisine that makes it so attractive.
