Pivovar Kolčavka (Kolčavka Brewery)

Pivovar Kolčavka

Pivovar Kolčavka (Kolčavka Brewery) was opened in 2014. You can usually choose from 5 or 6 beers on tap. All of these beers are brewed right in the restaurant. The beer menu consists of beers called Kolčavka 11° Pale Lager and Kolčavka 12° Pale Lager. These two traditional Czech beers are accompanied by Czech styled IPA called Czech IPA. They change beers on tap quite often here. Throughout the year you can try other top and bottom-fermented beers, i.e. wheat beer called Kolčavka 12° Pšenka, Märzen 14°, Smoked dark special, Kolčavka Ale 13°, Summer Ale 13°, Extra Bitter Lager 12°, Best Bitter 12°, Russian Imperial Stout 21° and so on. Beers are brewed seasonally.

There is a nice restaurant in Kolčavka Brewery. The actual brewhouse is placed right in the restaurant so you can watch the process of brewing while you're drinking. Interestingly the brewmaster here is a young lady.

The brewery is not exactly in the city centre but it’s still very easy to get there. You can walk from Palmovka or Českomoravská metro station - it’s around 1 km. Or you can get a bit closer by tram to Balabenka tram stop.
